ABOUT
MantiSpeck, LLC is a new, revolutionary, and innovative coaching company, designed to meet its prospective clients where they are, in a unique assortment of genres. Whether it be offering you leadership development to athletic training, providing you with a keynote speaker to professional motivation, our organization is prepared to walk alongside you on your personal journey. We believe that every individual possesses tremendous potential. Unfortunately, those talents are often never unlocked, due to a lack of self-confidence and a fear of risk-taking.
Our company’s name was derived by creating a fusion of all walks of our founder’s life. Stephen Speck has occupied many roles in his existence. He has been a teacher, coach, leader, administrator, and consultant. However, he also had the undeniable privilege of being a competitor in multiple sports, culminating with a career as a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athlete, where he was known as “The Praying Mantis.” From Stephen’s perspective, the praying mantis is symbolic of many facets of whom he defines himself to be. The majority of its time, the mantis resides in prayer, reflective of Stephen’s deep commitment to his faith. On the other hand, when compelled, praying mantises are capable of immediately transitioning into fierce competitors, and rise to face whatever challenges are before them.
At MantiSpeck, we like to view our role as the coaches of competitors in the sport of life.
MantiSpeck, LLC is led by our Founder & CEO, Stephen Speck. Originally from Carroll County, MD, Stephen Speck is a devoted husband and proud father of two sons. His family and he live in Hanover, PA, where they have made their home for the last 20+ years. Stephen was an elementary school classroom teacher for nearly a decade, while operating simultaneously as the head coach of two high school sports programs. Following that, Stephen oversaw the athletic departments of three school districts, in two states, for a total of 15 years, concluding his educational tenure as the Director of Athletics for the South Western School District in Hanover.
Additionally, Stephen has been an athlete himself for practically his entire life. He has been both a practitioner and coach of combat sports on literally all levels. He began wrestling as a child and continued through college. He was a boxer for the better part of his 20’s. He then found a culmination of those passions by competing as a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter for the better part of half a decade. During his career as a pro MMA fighter, his cage name was “The Praying Mantis.” He is also a lifelong Tennis player.
Easily one of the most significant aspects of Stephen’s existence is his faith. It operates as the core of his family. As a means of creating a union between his passion for combat sports and his religious beliefs, in October of 2013 Stephen founded the “Faith’s Fighting Followers” (FFF) Ministry. For the past decade, he has been serving individuals of all ages on their faith journeys, while also coaching their athletic pursuits.
For the last three years and since retiring from education, Stephen has served as the manager of a Relationship Management Team (RMT) for a full-service CPA consulting firm. The primary function of RMT was to cultivate authentic and meaningful relationships on behalf of the company.
Stephen attended Towson University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and was captain of the Wrestling team. He later went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from McDaniel College.
